Web
A web tool for e-scooter diagnostics.
A Ukrainian-language e-scooter tool for teenage riders, with symptom checks, possible causes, repair estimates, safety warnings, and nearby shops.
40+
causes mapped
$ cat ./challenge
Helping riders understand faults and repair costs.
Riders start with a symptom such as "won't turn on, no lights, no beep". The tool presents possible causes, repair difficulty, estimated shop prices, and warnings about whether to ride.
Twelve symptoms lead to more than forty possible causes. Each entry describes whether it is a home fix or a shop job, with an approximate price and repair time. Brake faults show a striped "don't ride it" warning and directions to a shop.
Four supporting tools explain battery voltage, estimate range for different riders and terrain, interpret error codes, and locate nearby repair shops.
$ ./build --steps
How we approached it.
The design and development decisions behind the product.
Symptoms in the rider's own words
Symptoms use familiar descriptions such as "won't turn on", "loses power", and "brakes feel soft". Supporting details include "no lights, no beep" and "dies on hills". Ranked causes show repair difficulty and whether a shop is needed.Prominent safety warnings
Safety-critical faults show a warning in place of repair instructions. For worn brake pads, "brakes are a safety part, walk it to a shop" appears above the cost and time estimates.Estimates with clear limits
Range estimates account for rider weight, gradient, and temperature, with the manufacturer's stated range shown for comparison. Battery charge is shown as a band based on resting voltage, with a note that it is not a precise fuel gauge.
$ ls ./shipped
What we developed.
Features and systems implemented for this product.
Symptom triage
Twelve symptoms and more than forty ranked causes, with repair difficulty, estimated price and time, and an indication of whether a shop is needed.
Safety warnings
Brake and other safety-critical causes replace the repair path with a "don't ride it" panel and a route to a shop.
Range calculator
Range for a given weight, terrain and temperature, with summer and winter figures and the manufacturer's claim shown for comparison.
Battery voltage reader
An estimated charge band based on resting voltage within the pack's 39V to 54.6V range.
Error-code decoder
Fourteen Kukirin G2 Max display codes, each explained with a fault, severity level, and first step.
Shop finder
Nearby shops with ratings, review counts, distance, and opening status. A standing note explains that paid placements are labeled.
$ open ./screens
Product screenshots.
A closer look at the interface and its main features.
Battery voltage
Battery charge is shown as an estimated band, with its limits explained.
Error codes
Fourteen display codes with severity levels and first steps.
Shops nearby
Nearby repair shops with paid placements clearly labeled.
