iOS · Android
A math puzzle app for iOS and Android.
A math puzzle app with 210 levels across three modes, ten daily teasers, and practice sets built from puzzles a player finds difficult.
210
levels
$ cat ./challenge
Shared progress across three puzzle modes.
Arithmetic riddles, equation grids, and geometry puzzles use different controls but contribute to one level counter.
Players enter riddle answers on a keypad, place tiles to complete equations across and down a grid, or read angles from figures drawn to scale. All three modes contribute to the same progress record.
The app also tracks daily challenges and grades individual puzzles. Returning players see their streak and the number of puzzles they found difficult. Those grades determine which puzzles appear in practice.
$ ./build --steps
How we approached it.
The design and development decisions behind the product.
Chapters of twenty
Levels are grouped in chapters of twenty: Warm up, Patterns, then Logic. Progress is shared across modes. Locked chapters remain on the map with an unlock condition such as "Reach Level 41".A grade on every puzzle
Each solved puzzle receives a strong, medium, or weak grade. The home screen shows the counts for each grade. Its "Practice weak puzzles" link creates a set from the weak ones.Ten teasers a day
Players receive ten new number teasers each day. A calendar marks completed days beside the current streak, best streak, and monthly progress.
$ ls ./shipped
What we developed.
Features and systems implemented for this product.
Math riddles, 100 levels
Number-pattern puzzles on a numeric keypad, with undo, reset and three hints per level.
Cross puzzles
Players drag tiles from a tray to complete equations that must be correct both across and down the grid.
Geometry puzzles, 50 levels
Angle and shape problems drawn to scale, answered on the same keypad.
Daily challenge and streak
Ten new teasers each day, a monthly calendar, and counters for the current streak, best streak, and monthly progress.
Targeted practice
Grades record how players did on each puzzle. The app uses weak grades to create a set for further practice.
